Damaged vs. Healthy Hair
If you were to look at a piece of damaged hair under the microscope, this is what it would look like. This type of damage is common with hair that has been over-exposed to harsh weather, over styling and chemical treatments such as perms and bleaching. Product Buildup

Avoid Haircare Products Containing Oil
Haircare products containing oil coat the strands of hair and lock in the residual oil but lock out subsequent moisturizers and other nutrients, preventing haircare products from penetrating the cuticle.
